Podman

  1. podman machine init (download Linux VM)
  2. podman machine start [MACHINE] (start Linux VM)
  3. podman machine set --rootful (if root is required in VM, e.g. ports < 1024)
  4. podman machine stop [MACHINE] (start Linux VM)

MacOS (maybe): 

sudo /opt/homebrew/Cellar/podman/5.7.1/bin/podman-mac-helper install
podman machine stop
podman machine start
