| equals | \(+\vert\vec{u}\vert\vert\vec{v}\vert\) | when \(\vec{u}\) points in the same direction of \(\vec{v}\), |
| \(0\) | when \(\vec{u}\) is orthogonal to \(\vec{v}\), and | |
| \(-\vert\vec{u}\vert\vert\vec{v}\vert\) | when \(\vec{u}\) points in the opposite direction of \(\vec{v}\). |
