Population mean

The parameter representing

the arithmetic mean of a population,

denoted \(\mu\), and read “mew”, equal to

  \mu = \frac{1}{N} \sum_{i = 1}^{N} {x_i},
\end{equation*}
\]

where	\(N\)	is the population size, and
	\(x_i\)	is the \(i\)-th population value.
